BMJ approached me to develop an identity for their upcoming research event. They were seeking a robust logo that could encapsulate the event’s core themes: the collaborative efforts of individuals shaping medical research, the convergence of diverse groups, and the spark of inspiration. Additionally, they requested a versatile pattern to complement the background of their promotional materials.

Drawing upon my experience in event branding, I understood the importance of creating a design that could stand out amidst the visual clutter of any venue. Thus, I set out to create more than just a logo; my goal was to design a distinctive mark that could transition into signage and iconography. I also wanted the pattern to be directly linked to the identity, reinforcing the brand’s image and providing a sense of cohesion.

The outcome was a logo mark that maintains its strength and versatility regardless of its orientation. This robust mark can be utilised as a standalone focal point or arranged in a repeating pattern, creating a memorable motif that lends itself well to various applications. Whether incorporated into signage with added directional arrows or adapted into icons for marketing materials, the logo remains highly adaptable and impactful.

Examples showcasing how the logo mark was effectively employed for signage and incorporated into various design elements on-site.
